I actually never realised that hinkypunks were just in Harry potter.
But what I imagine is a land animal similar to an angler fish like a will o’ wisp
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will-o%27-the-wispDecember 5, 2018 at 5:40 pm #536DaveKeymasterYeah, I think adding in a Will-O-Wisp or a Hinkypunks into their list would be a bad idea. I wonder what there backstory would be…?
December 5, 2018 at 6:27 pm #537ThomasParticipantNot sure. I just imagine a realm of nearly eternal darkness would present a lot of opportunity to predators
December 5, 2018 at 6:30 pm #538DaveKeymasterI’m sure you’re right 🙂
December 5, 2018 at 6:32 pm #539DaveKeymasterHere’s a look at a House Frat Lord’s stat sheet:
December 5, 2018 at 10:55 pm #542ThomasParticipantWow the manticore is very interesting, I look forward to seeing it’s other abilities.
Is the blood dragon Attack stat a mistake?December 6, 2018 at 12:28 am #543darkgunman-3ParticipantThe manticore is vampire like with its +1 blood lust ability in addition to its 7 attacks. Cool
December 6, 2018 at 9:14 pm #544DaveKeymasterNo Tom. The Great Blood or Red Dragan is totally geared up for offence, but you will notice that it is much weaker defensively than other Great Dragons.

December 6, 2018 at 9:26 pm #546DaveKeymasterDarkgunman-3 I’m thinking of bring the Orc Blood Lust special rule into the wider rules. As you may know Blood Lust works a lot like Frenzy, but you can take a DC to try and control it, and that is how it will work for the Vampires.
Also the Manticore is one of the mid sized monsters and will be roughly the same size as the Elf Roc or Herlanceian Griffin, but with just more Bite! Also I am thinking of giving it poisoned attacks with them having a Scorpion’s tail.
December 6, 2018 at 9:45 pm #547ThomasParticipantWow that blood dragon in a units flank would be a death sentence
Of course the points could change at a later date but as it stands you could make an elite unit eater which could happily munch elves for 560pts
If you take a lord with this abilitiesMartial Prowess at +30pts
The Vampire gains +1 attack.Weapons Master +50pts
The Vampire gains +2 to their combat rating and does -2 to an enemy’s save.Fatal Blows at +80pts
The Vampire with this blessing strikes out ‘Fatal Blows’ against all characters, infantry and cavalry models with base’s sized 30x30mm or less and skirmished models with a base 40x40mm or less.Vampire Lords only.
Give them a manticore you have someone with 4 attacks with fatal blows doing -6 to a save (4 T 2 A) and a manticore with 8 attacks shredding weaker units.
It’s expensive but you could chuck him some defense boosting magic items as his offense is very strongDecember 6, 2018 at 10:00 pm #550DaveKeymasterYep he would be a Monster Tom! Even on foot alone in a standard unit he would be pretty nasty. And all vampires are going to have Regeneration as well and Fray Vampires will be able to take Full Plate Armour (+3 Toughness) too. Though he would lose 1 Agility off his save.
December 6, 2018 at 10:03 pm #551ThomasParticipantDepending on who your fighting plate armour could be useful
Also I was thinking with regards to the scorpion tail as it wouldn’t make sense for all the attacks to be poisoned so maybe it has D3 poisoned attacks but these suffer a -1 to hit?

December 6, 2018 at 10:13 pm #553DaveKeymasterI think your right Tom, but I think it would be better to just have it as one attack with -3 toughness to a target’s save (to represent armour piercing) and make it a level 4 poison attack.
December 6, 2018 at 10:17 pm #554ThomasParticipantFair enough. That’s not a bad idea
December 6, 2018 at 10:21 pm #555DaveKeymasterCool 🙂
I am just writing Gorren House’s blessings now. I am working away this weekend, but when I get back this sunday I will try and start that thread on the forum.
