Hi all,
I’m Back!
Firstly, I’m back! I had to go away to bring my house up to code so I could rent it out, which is now done. I originally thought it would take two to three weeks, and I couldn’t have been more wrong—but I’m back now.
By the way, thank you to all my Patrons for hanging in there while I went radio silent. Cheers!
New Release – Orc Brute Battle Standard
I know I could have posted during that time, but I prefer to post when I actually have something to show. That brings us nicely to today’s release: the Orc Brute Battle Standard. You can download the new model at https://printandplayfantasy.com/the-black-land-orcs-army-codex-fantasy-orcs/ by clicking on ‘Brute Battle Standard Bearer’.

What’s Next
With that model finished and released, the next gaming piece to work on is the Brute Chariot Rider. I’m hoping that one won’t take too long, as the chariot model is already done—it should mostly be a case of drafting the new Brute model and combining it with the existing chariot.
There is one small caveat, though. I need to create a chariot rider who carries the horde’s Battle Standard, which is always carried by a Brute. The easiest solution is to create an add-on for the model, allowing the Brute Chariot Rider to also serve as the Orc army’s Battle Standard Bearer.
Nearly Done with the Orcs!
I know it’s been slow, but my progress has been steady. It’s worth looking back at the Three Plains Roadmap to see how far the Orcs have come.

As you can see, they are nearly finished. I’m saving the Orc Iron Mother until last, as she will be one of the biggest and most complex models I’ve ever made.
Here’s a quick recap of who she is—and why her model will be a bit of a challenge:
Iron Mothers and some rough art pics of her
Iron Mothers
Among the Shadow Lands Orcs, the Iron Mothers are the true rulers of the horde. Vast, ancient Snorts swollen with countless births, they grow so immense that their bodies can no longer support their own weight. Instead, they are carried into war in great iron carts filled with foul, stinking liquid that keeps their bloated forms alive and their endless broods growing.
From these rolling thrones, Iron Mothers rule their caravans with savage authority—bellowing orders, striking disobedient Grunts, and driving the Orcs ever onward in search of battle and plunder. Where an Iron Mother travels, war soon follows, for the hordes must always feed the endless mouths she brings into the world.
The Orcs may boast of their champions and strongest warriors, but in truth the Shadow Lands Orcs are not ruled by blades or muscle.
They are ruled by the Iron Mothers.

So, as you can see, she will be much more than just a two-dimensional model, and she’ll take some time to complete.
As always, let me know what you think of the new model — feedback is always welcome.
