Giant Wolf Spiders Are Complete!

Hi all,

The Giant Wolf Spiders and their Orc Beast Masters are now complete and ready to download!
You can get them from HERE and clicking on ā€˜Giant Wolf Spiders and their Orc Masters’.

To be fair, this wasn’t a difficult rework, as I didn’t do a bad job on them the first time around.
Basically, I removed the darker tones from the model and brightened everything up quite a bit.

That said, I’ve also added variety through layers of bloody fangs, blinded or lost eyes, and battle scars to help the models stand out from one another.

I also gave the Wolf Spiders’ rules in the codex a small update to make them easier and smoother to play on the tabletop.

Next Up?

I’m continuing to go back through my previous prints and incorporate the ā€˜cut-out keys’ (which I talked about in my last post).

The more I use these keys to line up my models’ fronts and backs, the more I realise how useful they are—they’re a much better solution than simply folding the models in half and glueing them together.

Now onto the Trolls!

The next big job is updating the Shadow Land Trolls.

Aside from the Beast Masters, which I can reuse from the Wolf Spider set (since they’re basically the same), the Troll model itself is going to need a complete rework as you can see.

I’ve already drawn up a new concept design for the Shadow Land Troll—see below:

These are going to be massive brutes, capable of lobbing huge boulders into enemy lines, effectively turning them into walking, fighting artillery pieces.

So, not only will the model need to be entirely redone, but the rules will need a complete rewrite too.

Furthermore, I’m aiming to make the new Troll model feel as 3D as possible, instead of just a two-dimensional model. All in all, this one’s going to take a bit of time.

That’s it from me today—until next time, take care!
